The story
From Toowoomba to the open ocean
It begins in Toowoomba, Queensland. Jack and Dylan share a passion for mixology and a vision to change the bar hire industry, so they build The Barmen: an exclusive bartending service with expert bartenders and the finest ingredients, quickly known for quality and style.
Today The Barmen are everywhere, servicing events from Bundaberg to Melbourne, West Queensland to the open ocean, and everywhere in between. Now based in Brisbane, Jack and Dylan keep the same standard on every booking, and keep improving their skills and their craft.
- The beginning. Jack and Dylan launch The Barmen in Toowoomba as a bartending service built around mixology and genuine hospitality.
- Brisbane. The business relocates, adding mobile bars, professional glassware and a wider team of expert bartenders for events across the south-east.
- Three states. Regular bookings in Brisbane, on the Gold Coast and in Sydney, with weddings and corporate events as far as Bundaberg, West Queensland and Melbourne.
- Today. More than 250 events, 100 weddings and 150+ five-star reviews from the couples, hosts and companies who booked us.

The people behind the bar
Two founders, one standard
Still owner-led. Still working the events they plan.
Jack and Dylan founded the company, still work events, and personally oversee how every booking is planned and staffed. When a couple in Sydney asked for a piece of Queensland at their wedding, it was Jack and Dylan who flew down to pour it.
The wider team are expert bartenders chosen for their skill, their knowledge of spirits and the flair they bring to the bar, delivering a consistent Barmen standard. Every member is trained in the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Responsible Management of Licensed Venues (RMLV). We do not serve intoxicated or underage guests, and we staff to your guest numbers rather than the smallest crew we can get away with.

The mission

Expert bartenders, each with their own flair and a deep knowledge of spirits, the latest equipment and the finest ingredients. That is the mission on paper. On the night it looks like this:
- Set up and dressed before your first guest arrives.
- Cocktails that taste the same at 10pm as they did at 6pm.
- Staff who read the room and know when to lift the energy.
- A service area left clean when the night is done.
- The right package, not a one-size-fits-all one: a full mobile bar, a BYO service where we bring the people and the kit, or a cocktail masterclass for your group.
Mixology has two centuries of history behind it, from the first printed use of the word in 1806 to the bartenders who have refined it since. Jack and Dylan carry that tradition on, from timeless classics to signature creations of their own.
