Cocktail Cart Hire

A cocktail cart is the small, dressed bar that fits where a full bar will not — a courtyard, a hallway, the end of a long table. We bring it, we staff it, and we take it away again. You choose the drinks.

20% off events held Monday to Thursday. Spring and summer Saturdays book out first, so check your date.

What a cocktail cart is

The bar, scaled to the room you actually have

Most people searching for a cocktail cart have a space problem, not a drinks problem. The cart solves the space.

  • The footprint

Fits where a full bar will not

A courtyard, a verandah, the end of a hallway, beside the dance floor. Somewhere a six-foot bar would block the room.

  • The people

    Staffed, not dropped off

An RSA-trained bartender comes with it. A cart nobody is working is a table with bottles on it.

  • The glass

    Real glassware

Coupes, highballs and rocks glasses, polished and packed. No plastic cups, however small the setting.

  • The cold

    Ice and chilling

Enough ice and cold storage for the length of your service, in a Queensland summer.

  • The finish

    Garnish and mixers

Fresh citrus, herbs, syrups and juices on cocktail packages. The part that makes it taste made rather than poured.

  • The kit

    Everything behind it

Shakers, jiggers, bins, cloths. Set-up and pack-down included, never billed as service time.

Cart or full bar?

Which one your event actually wants

Guest numbers decide this more than anything else. We will tell you if you are asking for the wrong one.

Cocktail cart

Smaller rooms, smaller crowds

Choose this when the space is tight, or the bar is meant to be seen as much as used.
  • Fits indoors — through a standard doorway and into a room already holding furniture
  • Reads as a feature — dressed, lit and photographed rather than tucked at the back
  • One bartender is usually right, which keeps the cost down
Full mobile bar

Bigger crowds, longer nights

Choose this when the guest count climbs and a queue would form at a cart.
  • More service points — two or three people can work it at once
  • More cold storage, which matters past a couple of hours in summer
  • See mobile bar packages for what that looks like

Not sure which? Tell us the room and the headcount on the enquiry form and we will say which one we would bring. It is a thirty-second answer and it is free.

Where a cart earns its place

The events people hire one for

  • Weddings — welcome drinks on arrival while the main bar is still being set, or a second service point so the queue never reaches the dance floor. See wedding bar hire.
  • Engagements and milestone birthdays at home — where the kitchen is the only other option and nobody wants the party in it. See private party bar hire.
  • Office and showroom events — a cart rolls into a foyer or a boardroom without rearranging the floor. See corporate bar hire.
  • Launches and openings — where the bar needs to look like part of the brand rather than catering equipment.
  • Venues that already have a bar — a cart moves the drinks closer to the guests without touching the house bar.

How it runs

From enquiry to pack-down

  1. Tell us the room and the headcount

Where it is, roughly when, and roughly how many. Six words is enough to start. We will come back with whether a cart or a bar suits it.

  2. We quote the whole thing up front

Staff, kit, travel and set-up in one number. Minimums are written in the quote. Nothing is added afterwards.

  3. We arrive early and set up

Bump-in takes an hour to an hour and a half and is not billed as service time. The cart is dressed and ready before the first guest.

  4. We pour, then we disappear

Pack-down is ours. The space is left as we found it, which at a house party matters more than anything else on this page.

Cocktail cart hire, answered

The questions we get asked first

How many guests can a cocktail cart serve?

It depends on how long you want them served for and what they are drinking. Tell us the headcount and the hours on the enquiry form and we will tell you honestly whether a cart will keep up or whether you want the full bar. We would rather say so before you book than have a queue on the night.

Does the cart come with a bartender?

Yes. Every booking is staffed with RSA-trained bartenders. We do not drop equipment off and leave you to it — an unstaffed cart is a table with bottles on it, and it is also a licensing problem.

Do you supply the alcohol?

You supply the spirits, beer and wine. We bring everything else: ice, glassware, garnish, mixers, syrups and all the equipment. It works out cheaper for you, and it means you drink what you actually like. We will tell you how much to buy.

Can it go indoors, or upstairs?

Indoors, yes — that is largely the point of a cart. Stairs, lifts and narrow entries we need to know about in advance so we bring the right people and allow the right time. Mention it in your enquiry and it is never a problem.

Where do you travel?

Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast as standard, and further across Queensland and northern New South Wales. Travel is quoted up front rather than added later.

How far ahead should I book?

Spring and summer Saturdays go first, often months out. Midweek is easier and 20% cheaper. If your date is close, ask anyway — we would rather tell you quickly than have you assume.

Ready to book a cocktail cart?

Tell us the date, the place and roughly how many. If you are not sure of any of it, say so — “not sure yet” is a real answer on our form and we will work from what you do know.
